About this page

This page explains, based on how Creselio is actually built today, what is stored in your browser and why. It complements our Privacy Policy.

Essential cookies and sign-in storage

Creselio uses a small number of essential, first-party cookies needed for the app to work. Our authentication provider, Supabase, sets a sign-in cookie that keeps you signed in — this is a persistent cookie valid for up to 400 days (not just for your browsing session, and not readable-only-by-the-server: it's set with standard, non-restrictive access so our sign-in library can use it), refreshed while you keep using Creselio. We also set a preference cookie (crecelio_locale, valid for up to 365 days) that remembers your chosen language (English, Español or Català). Neither is optional — without them you couldn't stay signed in or keep your language choice — so neither needs your consent under cookie law, but we still want you to know exactly what they do.

Your analytics choice

When you respond to the analytics prompt, Creselio stores your choice in a first-party cookie named crecelio_analytics_consent, valid for up to 180 days, so we don't ask you again on every visit. This cookie only records whether you accepted or rejected analytics — it isn't itself used for tracking, and it's set either way (accept or reject), since we need to remember your choice regardless of what it was.

Analytics cookies (only after you accept)

If you accept analytics, Google Analytics (GA4) sets its own cookies (typically named _ga and _ga_*), each valid for up to 2 years under Google's default configuration (which we haven't changed), refreshed on each visit. These are never set before you accept, and if you reject or don't respond, they are never set at all. Advertising-related storage and signals are always disabled in our Google Analytics configuration, regardless of your choice. Separately from cookies, a couple of features use your browser's temporary sessionStorage (cleared automatically when you close the tab) to remember short-lived UI state, such as an in-progress analysis draft — this is never sent to Google or used for tracking.

Changing your choice

Analytics is entirely optional: Google Analytics never initializes and no analytics cookie is set until you actively accept it, and you're always free to reject. You can accept, reject, or change your analytics choice at any time using "Analytics settings" in the footer of the site — changing your mind takes effect for future processing going forward, without affecting the lawfulness of what already happened under your earlier choice.
